Check Out: Fashion to Help

Helping others looks this good: Valerj Pobeja and Mattia Biaji

If you’ve been spring cleaning like Andy and I have this week, you probably have trash bags stuffed with clothes you no longer want, regardless of the store tags still dangling from some of them.
Bring your cast-off spoils Tuesday night, March 17, to Culver City’s Brick Building, for a fashion-art happening benefiting Planet Aid, a nonprofit helping our lesser fortunate world citizens in developing nations with sustainable programs.
Our pals, the divinely creative and handsome couple Mattia Biagi and Valerj Pobega are collaborating on the installation. Mattia is known in art circles for coating everything from teddy bears to a jet—yes a plane—in sticky black tar. Valerj is a longtime stylist-designer whose recent collections have been gaining crtitical praise for their surrealist sensibility.

See you from 6-9 Tuesday, with donations in hand, at The Brick Building, 8870 Washington Blvd., Culver City. RSVP to [email protected] (or just crash it!).
