A Hunger For Noir Wave

As one scary flick after another is tapped on this Hallow’s Eve among those settling in for this fright night, I’m reminded by pal Ann Magnuson of her turn in one of the sexiest and chicest looking (if not, let’s face it, bordering on camp at times) films, 1983’s The Hunger.

The coolest of casts—Ann, along with Catherine Deneuve, David Bowie, Susan Sarandon..and Bauhaus credited as “disco group”—ensures this classic by Tony Scott (R.I.P.) remains a favorite. The opening sequence, featured here, guarantees it will be referenced forever. Now that’s something any good vampire can appreciate.
