Mad Men and California Girls: Trina Turk Fall 2009 |
Trina Turk's take on fashion summons fantasies of California living at its modernist perfection, a life the designer and her husband, photographer Jonathan Skow, don't simply pay lip service to through their 14-year-old company.
These kids live it: Through their shops (number seven opening in Bal Harbour this next month); the expanding collaborations like the guest designer line for Hue hosiery this season or the indoor/outdoor textiles for Schumacher; and two stunning homes, one a stone's throw from us in Silver Lake and another in Palm Springs, which is also home to signature home and clothing boutiques and a favorite hunting ground for their expanding personal collection of California craft jewelry, housewares and ephemera.
With that in mind, Martha Stewart gets the 411 from Trina on Tuesday's show, which she devotes to the desert town and its style makers.

Stewart also tours iconic homes such as the Kaufman House by Richard Neutra, the Frey House II by Albert Frey and the Elrod house by John Lautner. Trina's signature California glamour would be right at home in any of these addresses.
