It’s four more months before the newest release in two decades from Madame Grace Jones, but the first track, “Corporate Cannibal,” has already dropped in the visually arresting form of Nick Hooker’s new video featuring the rakish diva.
And can you believe: She is SIXTY YEARS OLD.
Still as fierce as ever, too, both in sound and vision. The music, classic Grace Jones in that it’s as modern as ever, begs a repeat listen. In the video, she appears to undergo the severest distortion, like the most elastic strand of shiny, inky licorice. She is monstrous, machine-like, manic, marvelous.
And suddenly reason enough to pull the latex suit or patent boots out of storage.
