Besides the twinkling lights and seasonal goodwill, another reason I look forward to this time of the year is the blow-out sale Paula Thomas stages--and it is a staging--for her elegant goth-glam line Thomas Wylde.
The sale is open to the public this Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Smashbox Studios in Culver City.
I picked up $995 dresses for $90 at the last one, and a $700 skull-flecked shawl for $25--all pristine and plastic wrapped. This weekend's event is supposed to be particularly major, and not only because items will go for as little as $10. The Wylde crew has cleaned out the warehouse of any samples and other gems taking up space. And the uber-fly former model and collaborator of a handful of haute houses in Paris, London and stateside, Paula has done a Fall-time Spring cleaning of her own vast wardrobe. She tells me she's pretty much giving it away since it's not going back home with her.
Think of this as a rescue effort!
